Barbara Jean (Sydnor) Durr

Barbara Jean Durr, a vibrant and resilient woman, was born on July 21, 1946, in Washington, DC, to the late Calvin Sydnor Sr. and Sarah P. Sydnor. She peacefully transitioned from this world on May 20, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. Mourning her loss are her children: John Mason Jr., Michael Mason Sr., Tina Durr Herring, Annette Durr Nicholson (Ronnie), and bonus daughter (niece) Doniece Sydnor. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Darwin Durr, Jeffrey Salomon, Davon Bryant Mason, Michael Mason Jr., Tiona Herring, Demetrius Nicholson, and Dominique Nicholson; her great-grandchildren: Jaccai Ford and Zehn Durr; her siblings: Ruth Sydnor McPherson (Michael), Michael Sydnor, and half-sisters Cheryl Lynn Johnson and Sharon Twanna Deschamps; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin Sydnor Sr. and Sarah P. Sydnor; her sisters, Brenda Sydnor and Delores Scott; and her brother, Calvin Sydnor Jr.
