Carol A. Latt of Marlborough, MA, born March 7, 1951, (Nee Carol Battaglia in Cambridge, MA) of Greenbelt, MD, peacefully departed this life on April 10, 2024, after a long period of declining health in Lanham, Maryland. After graduating cum laude from Massachusetts Bay Community College, with an Associate Degree in Business Administration, Carol dedicated her career in Federal civilian service, lastly at Department of the Navy in Laurel, MD, as an esteemed Contract Specialist for 25 years.
She was smart, loved to laugh, and especially enjoyed homemaking, cooking, and baking, being with family, listening to music, and dancing. Carol was always trying and sharing recipes, old and new, especially her favorites from her Italian ancestors, her Mom, Lena, Nana Ann, and Aunt Emma. She had a love for beagle puppies, and as such, rescued several homeless beagles during her life. Most recently she suffered the loss of her beagle pet, Joy, in February 2024.
Carol shared a loving bond with her sister, Lorraine Sharon and her husband Arthur, of Marlborough, MA and loving relationship with her longtime partner, Antonio (Tony) Wyatt of Maryland. Carol is predeceased by her parents, Louis and Lena Battaglia (2007 and 2008, in Marlborough, MA), and her brother, Richard Battaglia (2016, in Savage, MN). She leaves behind a sister, Lorraine A. Sharon (husband Arthur), a brother, James R. Battaglia (wife Jane), in Blackstone, MA, nephews, Louis Battaglia (wife Venus), in Newago, MI, and his children, Christopher Sharon (wife, Dr. Crystal Sharon), and their children, in Palmer, AK, Brian Sharon (wife Rachel), and their children in Clinton, MA, Anthony Battaglia (wife Deidra) of MA, and their children, former spouse, Thomas G. Latt, Hebron, MD, and many cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Carol will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, grace, and unwavering love for her family. She leaves a legacy of warmth and compassion that will be cherished by all who knew her. A life well lived. May she rest in eternal peace.
Pridgen Funeral Home, PA in Lanham, MD assisted with the funeral arrangements. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Marlborough, MA.
