Carolyn Marie (Lyons) Piper

Carolyn Lyons Piper, 77, of Oxon Hill, MD, peacefully transitioned on October 29, 2025.  She was born on February 20, 1948, in Washington DC to the late David A. and Ethel K. Lyons.  She received her early education from DC Public Schools before studying Business Administration at the University of Maryland College Park.  She was a civil servant for more than 30 years, serving the District of Columbia Government and the Federal Government. She was a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Carolyn was preceded in death by her brother David Attlee Lyons, her mother, Ethel King Lyons, and her father David A. Lyons.  She is survived by her daughters Dr. Taconya D. Goar (Aaron) and Dalita M. Piper, her "precious" grandson Kenneth David Goar, her sister Rev. Dr. Beverlyann V. Austin (William), and a host of relatives and loved ones.
