Charles John Obituary

Charles Morris John was born on June 20, 1970, in Santa Cruz, Trinidad and Tobago, to Catherine Lynn John and the late Dennis Cosmos John. He peacefully departed this life on June 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family.

Charles received his early education at La Pastora Government School and later attended Aranguez Junior Secondary School. He continued his studies at San Juan Comprehensive School, where he earned his certification. Dedicated to serving others and committed to lifelong learning, Charles furthered his education in the healthcare field, obtaining his Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification and completing Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) training. His compassion, strong work ethic, and commitment to caring for others were evident throughout his life and career.

Charles was a devoted son, father, brother, grandfather and friend whose kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love touched the lives of many. He will be remembered for his positive spirit, his dedication to his family and community, and the lasting impact he made on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Charles shared his life with his beloved wife, Annmarie John, and together they built a foundation of love and peace. He was the proud and devoted father of four daughters: Raciene Ashman (Julio), Charilind John (Aaron), Chania John (Nathan Jr), and Jayda John. His greatest joy was being a grandfather to Jaiden Stewart, Joel Jones, Charles John Jr., Brooklyn Jones, Arianna Whittington, Ryan Ashman, Aaron Whittington Jr., Harlym Jones, Londyn Jones, and Shilo Jones, along with many other cherished relatives and loved ones.

He is survived by his loving mother, Catherine Lynn John, and his siblings: Bernice Joseph, Shirley Timothy (Ricky, Kenneth Joseph Sr. (Monica), Claudia Borde (Russell), Claudette John, Claudius John (Cherain), Catherine Martin (Dierk), and Cheryl John-Marcano (Joseph, deceased), The mother of his children Jennylind John as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, in-laws.and other surviving family and extended members who will forever treasure his memory. He was proceeded in death by his father Dennis John, son Romain John and nephew Phillip Borde .

Charles had a vibrant spirit and a deep love for life. He enjoyed singing, dancing, playing various musical instruments, cooking, and watching Family Feud. He loved listening to soca music, especially TriniSoca FM, and took great pride in his culture. He was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed cricket, soccer, football, and basketball. Above all else, he cherished spending time with family and creating lasting memories with those he loved.

His wife, Annmarie John, lovingly shared these words about the man she cherished:

"Charlie made me more independent. He didn't want me to depend on anyone, but to be my own person.  He kept pushing me to bring my best, thinking on the positive side of things and not the negative. He helped me so much, and I hope that I did the same for him."
