On Friday, May 29, 2020, at age 90, Clementine Elizabeth Greenfield got her Angel Wings and went peacefully to Heaven.
One of six children, she was born on Thursday, February 13, 1930 to the late William Henry Greenfield and Bessie Mary Barbour Greenfield.
Clementine was baptized Catholic on March 15, 1930 and would go on to graduate from the St Mary’s Catholic School in Upper Marlboro, MD. She spent most of her life sharing a business with Cleopatra Curtis, her best friend since second grade.
Clementine was a single mother who raised five children: Darrell DeAndre Greenfield, Angela Maria Greenfield Boyd Smith, Terrell Antonio Greenfield, Kevin Renard Greenfield, and the late Darcia Andrea Greenfield Jones Taylor.
In 2009 Clementine finally retired to her home in Upper Marlboro. She later decided in 2018 to move to Columbia with her granddaughter Desiree and later to her daughter Angela’s home. Even in her later years Clementine kept a sense of humor along with 90 years’ worth of wisdom. She would say things like “he’s not looking for a job, he’s looking for a position”.
In addition to her children, Darrell, Angela, Terrell, and Kevin; Clementine is survived by 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, brother George, sister Mary and a host of other relatives and friends.
