There are times in our lives when we are privileged to have extraordinary people walk among us.  They are the candles whose lights illuminates the paths of love, hope, joy, and godliness.  Cynthia Lisa Johnson was one of those extraordinary people.

Cynthia Lisa Johnson affectionately known as “Cin” or “Cindy” was born on March 6, 1981, at Prince George County Hospital in Cheverly, Maryland. She was born to loving parents, Jerry Jenning Johnson, and the late Bessie Mae Talley Johnson. Cindy the only girl and the baby of the family, was the apple of her parents and her brother’s eyes. On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in Landover Hills, Maryland, God called his angel home to eternal rest.

She grew up in Riverdale, Maryland where she attended grade school at St. Bernard’s Catholic School and Elizabeth Seton High School. In the winter of 2003, she graduated from the University of Maryland - Baltimore County with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems Management. Throughout these years is when most began to recognize her for her natural athleticism in soccer, basketball, tennis, and softball. She never missed a moment to invite or challenge anyone to a competitive yet friendly game on the court, or field.

One of Cindy’s most adored attributes was the ability to brighten any room or situation with that infectious smile and the genuine love and affection that she was always willing to share. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and will forever be remembered for her “cool as a cucumber” attitude. Her friends honored her ability to be the peacekeeper and middle ground for their circle. Cindy was very passionate about family, children, and people overall.

Cindy was preceded in heavenly transition by her mother, Bessie Mae Talley Johnson aka “Doll” and her furbaby Rocky. She leaves to cherish and celebrate her life and loving memory her father: Jerry Jenning Johnson of Riverdale, MD; brothers: Jerry Jay Johnson (Sharon) of Bowie, MD, and Brian Johnson (Aisha) of LaPlata, MD; a niece Jasmine D. Johnson and nephew Jerrett J. Johnson; Goddaughter Story Ricks-Taylor, uncles, aunts, cousins; sista friends: Marja Brown, Lakiva Jones, Kristen Ricks-Taylor and Melissa Dennis along with a host of other family and friends.
