Eddie Mae (Moon) Boyd

Eddie Mae Boyd was born on January 12, 1923 in Laurens SC, she is the daughter of late Martin Moon and Mariah Shell Moon. She grew up on a farm with her other 16 siblings.

She met and married Alvin B. Kilgore of Pittsburgh, PA on 12-25-1948.  She then later moved to Washington DC where she met her 2nd husband, James G. Boyd, she worked at GWU Hospital from January 1968 for over 22 years, where she later retired in July 1990.

Eddie Mae continued to enjoy life and her family, she enjoyed cooking and finding new recipes to try out, she loved to bake making her pound cakes, cheese cakes over the Holidays, where she enjoyed those special dinners with her family and relatives.  She enjoyed watching her soap operas, she always wanted to get anything that had to be done in the mornings out the way, so she could sit down watch her shows when time to come on, and she continued to watch them and play with puppy Muffins until the Lord called her home on, November 21, 2020.

She leaves only 2 sisters, Bessie M. Johnson and Sara L. Moon of Laurens, SC and 1 brother, Jasper Moon of Simpsonville, SC.  3 children, Alvin E.Kilgore of Temple Hills, MD, James L. Boyd of Washington, DC and Jane D. Boyd of Upper Marlboro, MD, 1 daughter in-law, Dianne Kilgore,   2 surviving grandchildren, Robert E. Kilgore, and Ashlee N. Corbin, and a host of other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
