Emma Rebecca Washington peacefully departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on November 25, 2022.
Born in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, on October 27, 1937, to the late Thomas and Emma Curtis, she was known to most as "Rebecca" or "Beck."
Rebecca leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Leonard Sr, and children Cheryl Nichols (Reginald), Leonard II, and Maria Jah. She will be deeply missed by her five grandchildren, David Armbrister, Dennis Armbrister, Nicole Livingston (Sean), Leonard Washington III, and Miles Washington, and great-grandchildren, Joanna Livingston, Adoniah Livingston, and Janae Livingston. She is survived by three sisters, Marie Price, Erma Collier (Norris), and Gabriella Teh; three brothers, Thomas Curtis Jr, Robert Curtis, and Gabriel Curtis (Bernice); sisters-in-law, Joyce Shepherd (Willie) and Ruby Curtis; and Godchildren, William Jennings, Robin Ford, and LaTonya Danson. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides her parents, Rebecca was predeceased by sisters Edith Curtis and Joan Greene; brothers Bernard Curtis and Thomas B Curtis; sisters-in-law Gail Curtis and Sehon Miller; brothers-in-law Eugene Price, LaVelle Greene, Tarty Teh and Clyde Miller, Sr; daughter-in-law, Shari Washington; nephew, James Miller, and goddaughter, Andrea Pearson.
