On Saturday, October 8, 2022, God dispatched his angels to bring his loving/caring servant, Gail Vanessa Adams-Bullocks home. Gail was born on October 18, 1957, in Bethesda, Maryland, to the late Beatrice Shirley Adams & Robert M. Adams.
Gail attended a host of schools (both public and vocational) in the Washington, DC area. Gail received her baptism at Mount Mariah Baptist Church located in Washington, DC.
Gail worked with private businesses in Washington, DC & Virginia shortly after high school for several years. In August/2002, Gail started her career in the Prince Georges County School (PGCS) System as a secretary/ accountant/office manager. They include: Woodmore Elementary, Drew Freeman and G James Gholson Middle Schools and Henry Wise High School – just to name a few academic institutions for 20 years.
While employed by the PG County School System, she served in roles as office manager, event organizer, field trip liaison, accountant, and payroll liaison. Gail was highly-regarded as “the point person for getting the job done,” while demonstrating her dedication, knowledge, decision-making abilities, planning and professional advice.
Gail married her longtime beau, Donald Lee Bullocks on July 29, 1997. They always anticipated celebrating their anniversaries and birthdays, while planning trips together with family members.
Gail had a passion for NFL football. Although she was not that excited for the then “Redskins - now Commanders,” which was Donald’s favorite team, Gail did not realize that
her photo dressed in Redskins gear went “viral.” Donald and Gail spent quiet time watching their favorite TV shows, attending sports events, and worshiping at Union Temple Baptist Church. Gail loved and cherished all of her sons, daughters, and grandchildren. Thanksgiving and Christmas were Gail’s favorite holidays when she would decorate and spend time with family and friends. Gail enjoyed planning getaway trips to the beach, casinos, and various resorts with the family.
Gail leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Donald Lee Bullocks; one sister, Brenda Adams; brothers, Robert Adams (Babe), Lorenzo Adams (Tara) and Joseph Adams; their children, DeVon Adams, Patrice Lanier (William), Deon Rollerson (Shante), Derrick Rollerson (Katina), Tawanna Payne (Lenale), Marcus Bullocks (Sirleakar), Donald Jordan (Raeshawn); thirty-eight grandchildren, twelve sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, and
a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends and co-workers who loved her to the ends of the earth.
