Joseph Gerald Jobe was born on May 6, 1935, in Point Fortin, Trinidad, as the eldest of five children to Munroe and Mary Jobe (both deceased). After completing his early education at Point Fortin Anglican School, he pursued a career in teaching as a Teacher Monitor. Joseph later moved to Caracas, Venezuela, where he transitioned into training as an Engineering Tech and met his wife, Norma. While living in Venezuela he also welcomed his daughter, Xiomara.
In the early 1970s, Joseph emigrated to Washington DC, exploring various roles in the construction industry before becoming a Master Plumber at Howard University's building maintenance department, where he eventually retired. Joseph remarried his childhood sweetheart, Joan, in December 2003. Known for his diverse talents from photography to DJing at parties, Joseph was a kind-hearted man who cherished his family and enjoyed traveling with them on road trips. He spent his later days in Philadelphia, leaving behind a vibrant legacy of warmth, laughter, and love.
In the tapestry of life, Joseph Jobe's legacy lives on in the hearts of his beloved daughter, Xiomara, his wife, Joan and the many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless loved ones whose lives he touched with his kindness and generosity. Rest in peace, Joseph, your presence will be deeply missed but you will always be remembered with love.
