With deep sorrow and profound love, the family of Joseph R. Marcano announces his passing on April 6, 2025. Joseph is the beloved husband of Cheryl Jacqueline John-Marcano; loving father to Miguella Fayola Marcano, Elijha Marcano, Elsa Marcano, and Aisha Rene Marcano and dear grandfather to Elaijah Marcano, Messiah Marcano, Chozen Marcano, Taniyah Monet’ Patterson, Zamearah Danae Moraldo, Zara Faith Kamara, Armoni Iyonna Marcano, Aubrey Skhy Marcano, and the late Zion Jasail Marcano. He is also survived by his devoted siblings David Marcano (Margaret, deceased), Florence Marcano (John, deceased), Marie Jeffers (William), Jemima Marcano, Carmel Bullard (Clinton), Marcia McKenzie (Ansel); stepchildren Crystle Ann Johnson (Keon), Sheldon Sandy (Ashley), Stephan Sandy, Lawrence Nelson Jr. (Yasmine), La’Ron Nelson; mother of his children Merlene Lawrence-Marcano; a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family, and friends—as well as his M&J family, clients, and colleagues—who were touched by his life and legacy. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Clyde and Amy Marcano; sister, Mrs. Olivia Sorzano (Dennis), brother, Jawanza Nyahuma (Kafi) and Uncle, Edward Marcano (Hetty).
Joseph's laughter, warmth, wisdom and strength will be missed dearly, but his memory will live on in all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, generous spirit, and enduring love for his family. Joseph will be laid to rest in the family plot, near his beloved grandson Zion, his mother Amy, and other family members.
