Very early on Thanksgiving Day 2022, Sammie transitioned and transferred from the temporary to the eternal after years of residency at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jasper Earl, parents, a son, Vincent Earl, Smith brothers: Donald Ray, Alex Marcus, Emerson Charles; Roberson brothers: Elmer, McKinley, Carl Rudolf, and John Samuel. Sisters: Shirley Temple Delvino, Ora Lee Curtis, Sharon Lynn Williams, Doris Elizabeth Washington. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Celestine), Ronald (Shirley), Rev. Dr. Michael T. (Faith), Douglas, her ONLY daughter, Min. Pamela Pitts (Wyman), and her remaining brothers Dr. Jerrion G. Smith, III of Arlington, Texas and Ronald Carlton Roberson of Kansas City, Mo., and her dearest sister, Bobbie Jo Roberson Jones, sister in loves, Johnnie Lee Robertson of Marshall, Texas and Willie Mae Roberson of Kansas City, Missouri. Her grandchildren; LaShawn, Kenneth II, Tiffany Khristian, Tyler, Raymond, Rev. Michael C., Israel, Dominique, Nia, Ashley, Letrevis, Jas, Moriah, Amaris, Simone, and fourteen great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. Her special friend through life Sister Bernice Morris, aka ‘Ms. Betty’ our family’s second mother.
