With heavy hearts but joyful memories, we announce the passing of Sheena Lee Marie Girty (Davis). Sheena was a vibrant soul who brightened every room with her radiant smile and infectious laughter.
Born on a windy day at Camp Zama, Yokota Air Force Base in Japan, Sheena brought warmth and joy to everyone around her. She was the beloved daughter of Priscilla Davis (Williams) and Evangelist CSM Archie L. Davis Jr. (Killeen, TX) and a loving sister to Dr. Aimy S. L. Steele (Charlotte, NC), Leta Scott (Pittsburgh, PA), Starlet Davis (Houston, TX), and Simeon Davis (Vilseck, Germany).
Sheena's journey was filled with love, faith, and humor. She was saved in 1996, securing her place in heaven. She began her education at Devers Elementary in Fort Bragg, NC, moved on to Smith Middle School in Fort Hood, Texas, and graduated from Seoul American High School in South Korea in 2006, where she served as Senior Class President. She continued her education at UNC Charlotte, joining the Voices of Eden Gospel Choir and touring the United States, singing for the glory of God.
Sheena married the love of her life, Toré Girty on November 25, 2008, in Salisbury, NC. Together, they were blessed with four beautiful children: Eli (14), Shiloh (12), Trinity (8), and Asher (5). Sheena's love for her husband and family was boundless, and she found immense joy in nurturing and cherishing her children. The summers were filled with family adventures and Sheena would often say “We be rolling”! when the 6 “Gs” would arrive at a destination.
A woman of many talents, Sheena worked in executive office management before finding her passion in real estate. She was a licensed Realtor in Texas, Georgia, and Maryland, helping many find their dream homes.
Sheena had a zest for life that was unparalleled. She often referred to people as "these jokers" with a playful grin. She gave sage life advice with a matter of fact tone but a gentle delivery.
She loved Jesus out loud and was an active member of several choirs, including Seoulsations, Voices of Eden, New Life Baptist Church Choir, and most recently, the FBCG Young Adult Choir.
Sheena's legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. She lived life fully and deeply, touching the hearts of all who knew her. As we celebrate her life and remember her bright smile, we find comfort in knowing she is now singing with the angels, bringing joy to the heavens as she did on earth.
Rest in peace, dear Sheena. Your light will forever shine in our hearts.
