Shirley Marie Brown was born on December 25, 1935 in Washington, DC to the late William Sharps and late Helen White-Carson. On Thursday, August 19, 2021, Shirley peacefully departed this life to be with the Lord. She leaves to cherish her memory, three children: Diane Brown, Robert Brown (Creusa) and Tanya Scott; six grandchildren: Shavaun Hawkins (Jonathan), Zhanita Brown-Hager (Robert), Stephanie Brown, Christopher Torrence, Samantha Brown, and Cheyenne Baxter; five great grandchildren: Elijah Brown, Zhaire Hager, Autumn-Journee Hawkins, Malik Hager, Charlee Tutt; four sisters: Gloria Webster (Linwood), Hattie Carson, Joyce Carson, and Deborah Holland; and two brothers: Clifton Carson and Sterling Carson. Shirley also leaves behind two nieces Renee Webster and Chamisa Carson; three nephews: Caribe Holland, Linwood Anthony Webster, and Derrick Carson; six great nieces: Brittany Webster, Charnae Schowers, Kayla Holland, Caria Holland, Liv Holland and Tamia Pleasant (Jason); three great nephews: Anthony Webster, Laurent Holland and Kai Hebron. Other great great nieces and nephews include: Jordan, Byron, Terrell, Aiden, Kam, and Kash Matthews. She is also survived by dear friends and co-workers such as Ms. Williams, Ms. Anglin and Ms. Johnson. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents William Sharps and Helen White, brother John Carson and long-time companion Raymond Watson.
