Thomas J. Hayden Sr., 88, of Lanham MD passed away after a brief illness on August 19 th 2023. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Mary Ann (Judy), two sons, Thomas (Therese) of Broomes Island, MD and Timothy (Noreen) of Sunderland, MD. He also leaves 5 grandchildren Erin, Thomas III (TJ), Shannon, Joseph, Grace and one great grandchild Kieran. He was predeceased by his parents Alonzo and Anne; and his sister Mary. He retired from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in 2019 after a long career in the federal government. He was an avid horse racing fan and spent many hours handicapping races with his two \sons and longtime friend Ted. He served in the United States Marine Corps after graduation from St Johns High School in District of Columbia.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a good father and grandfather, and a solid provider who worked tirelessly to give the family everything they could ever need.
