Velma leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her children, William G. Humbert III (Shawn), Althea B. Milburn, and Carl L. Payton (Yvonne). She was preceded in death by her son, Leo J. Payton Jr., and daughter-in-law (Diane Payton). She was a proud grandmother to Christopher M. Humbert Sr. (her devoted grandson), Timothy Humbert, William G. Humbert IV, Richard Humbert, Keisha Payton, Stephanie Payton, Dabion Payton, Malik Payton, and the late Marcus Payton. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and close, devoted friends. Velma’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will be dearly missed. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
