Dr. Willie Curtis went home to his Heavenly Father on April 13, 2025. He was born on January 9, 1939 in Tunica, Mississippi to parents Will and Amanda Curtis. Upon high school graduation, he joined the US Air Force which led to a twenty-two-year career and a Ph.D. in Political Science. Upon retirement, Willie became a professor of Political Science at the US Naval Academy for twenty-ive years. His intellectual life is easily seen in the hundreds of books in his home. His spiritual life is observed through his involvement in the many outreach programs in his church. Willie was a quiet and unassuming man who believed strongly in God, country, and truth. He will be sorely missed by Mary Frances, his loving wife of sixty-seven years, his son Gordon, and Willie’s sisters: Diana Gordon, Cindy Rodgers, Amanda Williams, and brothers Lenzey Rogers and Michael Rodgers and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
