Retired Chief Master Sergeant Willie Edward Gadson, affectionately known as “Lump” was born May 15, 1936, to the late Charlie and Virginia Gadson in Columbia, South Carolina. He passed away on September 26, 2021 at 11:02 am at his home in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, while in Hospice care with his family by his side. Lump was known for his beautiful smile, his warm and generous heart, and his kindness. He always talked about the military and always had stories to tell everyone that he met. He loved his family and was proud of them all. He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife Earline Gadson; two sons Edward Gadson of Fayetteville, NC, Eric (Janice) Gadson of Savannah Georgia; two daughters Tawanda (Kevin) Cannon of Upper Marlboro, MD and Tosha Gadson of Capitol Heights, MD; three brother in laws Rufus (Kathleen) Williams Jr., Jacksonville NC, Stanley (Julia) Huff of Forestville, MD and John (Tracy) Huff of Fayetteville, NC,; One sister in law, Maureen Williams of Philadelphia, PA; four grandchildren Lamont, Tiera, Brandon and Eric Jr.; three great grandchildren; Chloe, Courtney and Allure Gadson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
